Lyla's Journey - Gotcha 3 years!

Today is Lyla's Gotcha Day! Three years ago today we adopted her in China. My oh my... this girl has changed so much over the past 3 years! When we got her she was crazy!! She ran everywhere, wouldn't hold our hands, would walk up to a stranger (in a park, restaurant, or anywhere for that matter) and take their drink and drink it, constantly hit Liem, eat everything she could find, yell, and it took a long time for us to finally see her beautiful smile. You could not take your eyes off her. It was like having a 2 year old in a 6 year old body! She would run out of the hotel room on her own, jump into the bathtub like a swimming pool, was terrified of the shower and obsessed with brushing her teeth.
Fast forward to today, she is absolutely amazing! She has the most beautiful smile, she is compassionate, she is a great reader, she loves people, and is so sweet! She works very hard in school and in speech. She needs to have a schedule and can get stressed out easily if her schedule changes. We always like to prepare her for the day ahead so she knows what to expect! She has come so far in 3 years. Everyone that meets her loves her, she is the sweetest little girl!

Please continue to pray for her. This week she was diagnosed with a tic disorder (Tourette's). She is fine and we won't treat it until it starts to "negatively affect" her life (hopefully it won't get that bad). As of now, it doesn't affect her at all. We are not to correct her when she has the tics either. It concerns Jeff and I more than anything because we don't want her to be made fun of and we all know how kids can be!

Join us in celebrating her life and let's shower this sweet girl with love and prayers!
