Sergeant Taylor

Today Jeff was promoted to Sergeant!! I am so proud of him! Below are a few pictures from the ceremony. Pray for our family while we are in transition. Jeff obviously is nervous about the new responsibility and it will be hard for Lyla to understand Jeff's new hours and days off.

California Vacation 2011

We are back from beautiful California & I miss it already! We spent a full week with Lily's family and truly enjoyed every minute of our trip. We had a cook-out & swim party with their family Saturday afternoon and left Sunday morning for the beach. We went to Carlsbad for the beach part of the trip & loved it there. The weather was beautiful! Photo Overload below!

Swim Party

Monday (July 4th) we got up and went to breakfast at a local pancake house, then went to Party City to buy supplies for the bike parade. The neighborhood has a parade for the kids to ride their bikes in, it was so cute! We went to the beach Monday afternoon and I met Alison there. She is a mom of 2 little boys that is considering adoption. I love when people approach me about the subject. I am an open book and would love to share my experiences, etc. with anyone that is curious! Alison, if you read this, send me your email address so I can contact you! That night we went to dinner & then to watch fireworks. It was such a fun & busy day. The kids had a blast decorating their bikes & riding in the parade.

Beach Fun

Below is my favorite picture of this trip

Tuesday we went to Legoland. This was Liem's one and only request for our entire trip. We stayed there for 6 hours and rode all we could. Liem, Lyla and Lily loved the roller coasters!

The pics below are from the funniest ride ever. This is a simple boat ride that you drive along this little pond area. It is mapped out for you to drive the boat thru. Lily and Lyla had SERIOUS issues, it was the funniest thing I've seen. They couldn't grasp the concept to push the pedal and steer. It took them 3x's as long to finsih as everyone else. And, as you see from the pictures, a worker had to get in their boat to help them; as you can tell, Lyla wasn't much help at all!

Wednesday morning Jeff, Liem, Lyla and I woke up early and went for a walk on the beach to look for sea shells. After that, we went into San Diego and drove around a bit. We stopped by a beach to show the kids seals! We got some pictures of a couple in the water, but my camera wouldn't zoom enough to get pics of the seals sun bathing on the rocks. My camera battery died Wednesday morning, so I don't have too many pictures. We drove around the town and went to some beautiful places!

Thursday was back to the house to pack up and get ready for the trip home. We all loved our time with the Poma's, it was a vacation that we will never forget! It was another tearful goodbye for Lyla. It breaks my heart to see her get so upset when she leaves Lily. She knows that we can talk to her and skype with her, so that should help her some! Thanks for sharing our journey!
