Today is Lyla's 7th Birthday!! We've been trying to explain to her over the past month or so that she is having a birthday soon...Needless to say, it was a very exciting morning in our house! I woke Lyla up and had her take her shower and get dressed. She had to get all the way ready for therapy & school before she could open presents. Below are several pictures I took of her throughout the day. It was a wonderful day for her and even at the end of the day she kept asking "Lyla Birthday?". She couldn't believe that she gets to have a birthday...sweet & sad at the same time. As adoptive parents, birthdays are a very emotional. We celebrate our children's lives and wonder about their birth parents. I pray that they have peace and know that their children are loved and living a beautiful life now! Thank you God for blessing my sweet family!

Cutest earrings ever! Lily brought these for Lyla when she came to visit! We happened to find this adorable cupcake tee shirt at Children's Place that matched perfectly!

The Little Mermaid is her FAVORITE movie!
For dinner we went to Thai Secret and I got some cupcakes from Rick's Bakery! Notice the look of disgust on Lyla's face after she bites the chocolate covered strawberry...she hates chocolate (sound familiar Vicki?!)! I still can't believe I have a child that doesn't like chocolate, oh well, maybe with time! She loved the strawberry icing on the cupcake, but didn't eat the cake. It is hit or miss, you never know what she will eat!

Kindergarten & 2nd Grade

Today was the first day back to school for my sweet kiddos! Liem was excited, he has been ready to go back for a few weeks now. He has missed playing with his school friends. He has also been excited to meet his new teacher! Lyla on the other hand, has been telling us "no school, yes coleman's". She wanted to stay at daycare because she doesn't have to do work there. She hates to work and her attention span is literally about 2 minutes matter what the project! When we got to school today she was excited to see her teacher! She has the same teacher from the 2 months that she attended in the Spring!!! She doesn't do very well with change, so I was totally relieved that she was happy to be back at school!

Lyla started occupational therapy this week. She goes Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8-9. The school knows that she will be late those days and as long as she is there by 9:30 it won't count against her attendance! She liked her first two days of therapy. She is an amazing and sweet little girl! Below are a few pics of the kids before school this morning!

A Sad Goodbye...

We just took Lily and Vicki to the airport. Lily did good, Lyla had a breakdown. She didn't quite understand why Lily didn't stay here. I think she understands better now. I told her next time, we will go to Lily's house to visit! Hopefully it won't be long until we see them again. Jeff, Liem, Lyla and I loved every minute of this weekend. It was so good getting to know the girls and it was priceless seeing Lily and Lyla together. Vicki & Lily, thank you girls so much for coming to visit, we can't wait to see you both again sometime soon!

Friday & Saturday

We have had such a fun weekend with Lily and Vicki! It has been great for the girls to play together. They don't talk a lot, but they do play very well together! I think they have both loved their time together. Lily will leave tonight and I know it will be very hard for Lyla. She had a little breakdown yesterday morning when I told her that their home isn't the hotel...They are such amazing girls and I'm so glad they have had this time together. I think today we are going to take them for a little shopping before Lily has to go home. Below are some pictures of Friday & Saturday.
